Mt. Rainier- 2012
Emmons Glacier Climb
(5 Days)
2012 marks the fifth year that TMG, Inc. applied for, and was awarded a one-time commercial use authorization for Mt. Rainier National Park. We are very excited about this opportunity, and are looking forward to a great trip up Mt. Rainier via the Emmons Glacier Route.
Our trip will begin outside the park on Sunday July 29th. We will meet for an afternoon meeting, gear check and pre-climb briefing. On Monday, July 30th, we will head in to the White River Entrance and our goal for the first day will be to climb to the Inter Glacier Camp at approximately 8400 feet. Day 2 should bring us to about 9800' at Emmons Flats. We have allocated Day 3 as our first chance to summit, but we also have Day 4 as well. We will plan to hike out on Day 5. We feel that a five day climb will give us the best chance for proper acclimatization in order to succeed on a climb of this magnitude..jpg)
The trip will be lead by Chris Wright, AMGA Certified Rock and Alpine Guide, and Marc Ripperger, AMGA Certified Rock Guide, and will be limited to 4 participants.
Offered: July 29- Aug. 3, 2012
Ratio: 2:1 (We will have two guides with a maximum of four climbers)
Cost: $1895 per person, minimum of two climbers needed.
