Mountaineering

South Sister

South Sister Climb
(1 Day)

Early in the summer South Sister offers a great moderate snow climb. Depending on condition it may require crampons and ice axe and is a great peak on which to learn the basics of mountaineering and wilderness travel in a highly aesthetic wilderness environment.

Offered: Early June on request
Cost: $275/person for groups of 2 or more.

South Sister Summit Ski Mountaineering
(1 or 2 Days)

For those skiers who have always wanted to ski from the summit of a peak, this is a dream come true. For the one day trip, we’ll make an alpine start from the trail head, going for the summit by early morning to capitalize on ideal corn snow conditions. For the overnight trip, we’ll make a camp near Moraine Lake, enabling us to have a more leisurely trip going for the summit on day 2. This is a classic peak ski descent.

Offered: June 2-3 and by special arrangement.
Cost: 1 day: $275/person for groups of 2 or more, 2 day: $450/person for groups of 2 or more.

South & Middle Sister Ski Mountaineering
(3 Days)

Spring is the best season for skiing from the summits of these glacier clad volcanoes. The Three Sisters Wilderness at this time of year is very uncrowded with incredible ski lines everywhere. We’ll be looking for the ultimate corn snow conditions that this area is so famous for. A flexible itinerary allows us to make plans as we go, allowing opportunities for skiing and climbing as conditions allow.

Offered: April dates arranged on request.
Cost: $645/person for groups of 2 or more.

South Sister Hike
(1 Day)

After mid summer the trail is fairly free of snow on South Sister and the climb becomes one of the most beautiful hikes in Oregon. Strewn with wildflowers and skirting big glaciers the views are ample reward for the long and strenuous day.

Offered: June-October dates arranged on request.
Cost: $150/person for groups of 2 or more.
